About Us

Parish of the Good Shepherd is the Episcopal Church of Waban, Massachusetts. Established in 1896, Parish of the Good Shepherd is located in the heart of one of twelve villages of Newton. Good Shepherd is conveniently located 1 mile from I-95 and less than 0.5 miles from the Waban T stop on the Green Line (D). The church was recently renovated to accommodate handicapped accessibility to all spaces within the building.

Music

Quality of Music used in Worship is one of the most distinguishing features of Good Shepherd. For many years, the parish has devoted significant time, energy and resources to build an exceptional music program. The parish choir performs a vast repertoire of sacred music ranging from the Renaissance to the present day with special emphasis on expanding performances of pieces by women composers, black composers, and other marginalized groups. Christian Education

The chief aim of Christian Education at the Parish of the Good Shepherd is for all of God’s beloved children to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18 KJV). We do this by offering faith formation programs for all ages, as well as by holding intergenerational events for the entire community. Along with the Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Massachusetts, we are committed to Safe Church, Safe Communities for the protection of children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Come, journey with us as disciples of Jesus the Good Shepherd! Click below for more information.
